SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (February 26, 2002)
- Autotest Co. (Power Supply ATE manufacturer
and world leader in power test technology) announced that it is expanding its
project activities in the design and development of 42 volt and dual voltage power
supply test systems for the automotive industry
Autotest, the established leader in ATE for a
broad spectrum of power supplies in the aerospace, military and OEM
markets, is well positioned to address the new performance standards and
changing parameters to the dual/higher voltage power supply automotive system
architectures. The introduction of
higher voltages along with related changes required in power storage, peak power
delivery, and filtering for accessory power levels demand entirely new design,
manufacturing and power testing techniques
Autotest's President and Chief Technical
Officer, Robert Cox said, "The transition to 42 volt systems will be
incremental and gradual, initially requiring dual or step-down voltage systems
with continually changing standard loads and power output requirements. Related
power supply test systems will have to be flexible and versatile enough to
accommodate and adapt to the constantly changing and wide range of parameters,
standards and components".
"Our growing involvement in the
automotive industry is a natural extension of our existing activities in the
aerospace, military and commercial OEM markets," added Michael McGregor, VP
for Sales and Marketing with the San Antonio, Texas based Autotest Company,
"We're working with automotive design industry leaders around the country
to ensure that our established technology integrates seamlessly and most
cost-effectively into the extremely demanding automotive manufacturing
environment."
